This Year's Oxfam Trailwalker Tohoku

Participation in 2016
Our university's team is also participating in 2016's edition of Trailwalker Tohoku, starting from 9.7.2016 around Mount Adatara in Fukushima.

In this event each team of four participants will have to cover a distance of 50 kilometers on mountain trails within 24 hours . Other groups of international volunteers will attempt a more difficult challenge of walking 100 kilometers in 48 hours.
One of the purposees of participation is fundraising. Funds collected by each team competing in the race will be used for a program of self-reliance support for developing countries initiated as a part of Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief (OCHA) in Syria and for the reconstruction support of Tohoku and Kumamoto.
This year's team's members are: Tanabe-san (leader), Watanabe-san, Imahara-san, Hoshisawa-san and Nishiwara-san, and are all International Exchange Studies students at JIU.

The supporters did a great job cheering on our team!

“Until the day of the competition, I want to build up my physical strength and take a lead in this fund-raising activity. This year we would also like to say thank you to all of our supporters.”
